An update from our Assistant Manager

It’s safe to say last week’s result and performance was very disappointing.  We had been on a good run since November and we felt that we were well prepared going into the game.

I have said before that we can’t get too down after a defeat and not too high after a victory.  Analysing the game,  it’s only fair to reflect that Lothian Thistle deserved their victory.

Although we had probably two of the best chances of the game,  we weren’t at the races over the 90mins.  Full credit to Lothian though,  as they were the better team and just seemed to have the bit between their teeth on the day.

We trained well on Tuesday and worked on a few things from Saturday,  particularly on the tactics board. The players are an honest good bunch of guys and took onboard where we felt we went wrong and talked through how we could prevent these situations from happening again if they were to arise again.

On to this weekend and we welcome Jeanfield Swifts to New Countess Park.  The weather has been horrific this week, but with the game still expected to go ahead today, I wish everyone connected to both clubs have safe travels and a safe journey to the game.

Jeanfield are a very good footballing side,  and we played out a hard fought game earlier in the season, which unfortunately resulted in defeat.  Saturday’s fixture should be a cracking game.

As we have seen all season at New Countess Park,  the support has been tremendous and we hope to see you all again and give you something to cheer about,  as we look to kick start our season as we head into a very important period.

The management and players are determined to rectify last week’s performance,  and fingers crossed we can get the 3 points to help us move up the table.

All the best

Dunny
