Fraser hanging up his boots.

Our Club Captain Fraser McLaren has advised our Manager Kevin Haynes that he plans to retire at the end of 2021.

Fraser’s career started in the Scottish Premier League with Gretna in 2007 where as a 19 year old, he played 3 times in the SPL before moving on loan to Ayr United and then Montrose.

Following administration at Gretna, he then joined Berwick Rangers in 2008 and then Peterhead 5 years later, followed by Bonnyrigg Rose in 2015, and a year later joining his hometown club of Dunbar United.

Fraser’s career highlights include gaining 6 caps and scoring 4 goals for Scotland at U19 level, where he also developed a bit of a habit of scoring against Rangers much to the delight of the Black and Gold army in Berwick where he remains a modern day legend.

Fraser reserved his longest spell at any club for his hometown club, and in five seasons at New Countess Park Fraser has so far played 146 times and scored 56 goals.

Fraser’s last appearance for The Seasiders is likely to be against Sauchie Juniors on the 18th December.

Everyone at the club massively appreciates the hard work and dedication that Fraser has brought to playing for his home town team. Being part of promotion (twice) and playing his part in our first ever Scottish Cup campaign.

After hanging up his boots, Fraser is looking forward to spending more time with his family, but he also expects that his family and himself will continue to be regulars here at New Countess Park.

All the best Skipper, we hope to see you and the family at NCP regularly.
