An update from our Manager

Last Saturday’s match v The Swifts was a good performance and a result we fully deserved.  If I’m honest, it could have been a lot more,  had we been more clinical with the two or three chances we created in the last ten minutes of the game.

We had a depleted squad to pick from due to a variety of reasons including suspension, injury, illness and holidays,  but the 12 fit players we did have available,  rolled their sleeves up and got the job done.

With players returning on Tuesday we decided to take a friendly match against Tweedmouth Rangers and give those players returning from holiday and injury a much needed run out.

It was pleasing to see young Ben Bathgate get 90 mins after a lengthy lay off, and he now comes into contention for a place in the squad.

We now have a difficult three games in the next seven days, where we will play three of the six teams above us in the league, and a win tomorrow will take us above the opposition,  and if results go our way,  then maybe a position or 2 more further up the table.

As always, we really hope the DUFC supporters get behind the boys tomorrow in Fife for our game against Crossgates Primrose,  and I’m sure there will be a great turnout for our next league game on Tuesday at New Countess Park vs Penicuik Athletic, who are sitting joint top of the league with Tranent.

Take Care
