An update from our Manager

We are well into our preparations for the up and coming season and I’m happy how things are going. We have added some quality to our squad over the summer and I can’t wait to see us develop as a team over the course of the next 6 friendly matches starting on Tuesday nIght with the Paul Hampshire memorial cup against Berwick Rangers.

We have worked the players hard this summer so far,  and the opposition we will face over the next 3 weeks will add to the endurance side of the game that we have been working on, as well as the match sharpness required as I feel the fittest teams have a better chance of success.

The players’ application and commitment has been great so far and the minor muscle injuries that are normally picked up at the start of pre season has been minimal.

With 19 signed players I am still looking to add 1 or 2 more players to the squad to give us the best chance of achieving our goal at the end of the season.  We do have a few guys on trial,  and once we see these guys in a match we will then have a better idea if what we want to achieve is suitable to both us and the player.

Lastly I want to congratulate everyone who has been involved in the process of getting the new stand in place at NCP. It looks unbelievable and transforms our great little Stadium massively.

It would be very fitting for a huge crowd to attend on Tuesday night, to fill our new stand all in memory of a great player and servant to both clubs and show the Hampshire family how respected Paul was.

All the best
