An update from our Manager

This year so far has been stopped with free weeks and postponed fixtures. We can’t seem to get a run of games which we desperately need. Right now I’m quite happy to have a break from the league fixtures and focus on a cup competition.

This is a competition that we want to progress as far as we can in, and we start our journey tomorrow v Kennoway Star Hearts after the postponement of last Saturday’s opening game against Ormiston.  Kennoway are sitting comfortably in the top half of their conference and I’d imagine they will fancy their chances coming to NCP.

As we have seen already in this competition, conference teams can beat Premier teams as Dalkeith Thistle proved last week by beating high flying Linlithgow Rose and we have to apply ourselves properly to get a positive result.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate everyone involved and especially Pam Munro in getting DUFC and DUFC colts together in forming the Under 20’s for next season. This is something I’m quite passionate about and hopefully both teams can work together and prove the pathway to the first team was worthwhile doing.

Finally myself,  Dunny and all the lads would love to see a big crowd at the game tomorrow, and we all think that it’s fantastic that the club is donating all the gate proceeds from the match towards the DEC Humanitarian Appeal for the poor people that are badly suffering right now in war torn Ukraine .

All the best

Kevin Haynes
