An update from our Manager

Another eventful week at NCP seen us perform well in spells, but we didn’t quite get the points that I thought our play deserved.  Last Saturday against Mussleburgh we were fortunate to be only 2-1 down at half time, as I thought we were second best in the first half.

We tinkered with the shape slightly and started causing Mussleburgh real problems during the last 30 mins.  I don’t think Mussleburgh couldn’t have complained if we sneaked the win with the amount of chances we created in the second half.  On reflection a draw was probably a fair result.

The midweek game this week saw us travel to Blackburn for a league match in which I felt was 2 points dropped.  I thought some of the football we played during the first half was the best we have played so far,  and had we nicked a second before half time we would have left Blackburn with 3 points.

It’s been a busy week off the park too, firstly Jamie Devlin and his partner Emma had a baby boy early Sunday, and we all want to wish Jamie and his family the best of luck.

We also want to wish Dean Whitson good luck for the future after his loan spell was cut short slightly early, so he returned back to Tranent yesterday.

Lastly,  we have added  Berwick Rangers attacker Dan Purves brother of our defender Jordan Purves to our squad today,  and we will await confirmation from the SFA before adding him to tomorrow’s squad.

I hope that everyone travelling tomorrow to Linlithgow, enjoys the big game.

Take care

Kevin Haynes, DUFC
