An update from our Manager

It’s a very warm welcome to Grant Brough and his backroom team as he brings The Swifts on their first ever visit to play Dunbar United tomorrow afternoon at New Countess Park.

Although The Swifts have a short history, they have had a meteoric rise and for a club only founded 25 years ago, and who went senior in 2018 being at the top end of the East of Scotland Premier league is an incredible achievement.

The Swifts will be up there as the form team in the league having not been beaten in their last 7 league matches. They have a great blend of youth and experience within their ranks and will provide us with another difficult match.

Having said that, a win against Swift’s would take us above them in the league and potentially propel us from 11th place to 5th demonstrating how tight this league is and will be for the remainder of the season.

After the excitement of last weekends Scottish Cup win over Camelon (I’m told it’s our first win over them in 30 years), I also wanted to thank our community for backing the club in huge numbers. It made for a very special day for everyone at the club.

The lads were incredible, but your support was too. I said before the game that a big support makes a huge difference to the lads and the fact that our attendance was one of the highest in the whole competition goes to show the potential of our club.

Take care

Kevin Haynes
