An update from our Manager

It was nice to get a win and a clean sheet last week in our cup game against Stoneyburn.  The pitch wasn’t great and we had to win ugly. Having said that, anyone at the game would probably agree that 3 or 4 nil would have been a fairer result, and the 1-0 score looks tighter than it actually was.

Our squad was pretty patched up last week with a few missing and a few with knocks. This week is no different,  as some of the guys return from holidays and injuries. We seem to have lost a couple of players with new injuries etc,  it’s all becoming slightly frustrating.

We have had a decent week on the training pitch, and  the lads seem ready for the visit of East of Scotland  Premier league giants Linlithgow Rose. We proved in the 40 mins of the abandoned fixture that we can compete with Lithgae and it could easily have been 3-1 going in at half time,  which would have been a fair result at the time.

Right now we need to believe we can recreate that first half performance and take the game to our opponents from the start of tomorrow’s match. Every game now comes with an element of pressure.  Linlithgow’s pressure is trying to climb back on top of the league, and our aim is to create some distance from the bottom 4 and steer clear of any relegation places.

I hope the support continues from the town and community as it has done all season. Dunny, the boys and myself all really appreciate the support this season from the supporters, and we hope you can make it along to NCP tomorrow afternoon.

Take care

Kevin Haynes
