An update from our Manager

With the season getting so close to the end the fixtures don’t seem to get any easier.  Tomorrow we welcome Dundonald Bluebell to New Countess Park, who have been on a great run of form recently and we will need to perform to our potential and carry a bit of luck.

I feel we aren’t getting the breaks at the minute and last Saturday was another example of that. If losing Stevie Thomson to a calf strain during the warm up wasn’t enough,  we then had to deal with the sickening head injury that Darren Handling sustained midway through the first half of the match against Blackburn, leaving us one available substitute.

I felt we didn’t play well last week,  and I thought losing Darren was a huge part of that.  To come from behind and get a point without playing well might be a great point come the end of the season. The good news is Daz had a CT scan and was released from hospital at 9pm Saturday night and he should be back to training next Thursday.

We are at a stage in the season where injuries, suspension and holidays will affect most teams and we are no different. I am asking guys returning from injury to make themselves available when realistically they could do with another week to recover.

I hope a good turn out at NCP tomorrow can cheer the boys on and help us to secure 3 valuable points.

All the best

Kevin Haynes
