An update from our Manager

Arthur’s Seat, Gullane beach, track runs, ball circuit, body condition circuits and 7 friendly matches all in preparation for tomorrow’s league opener against Rosyth. We are finally here,  prepared for the next 10 months of football, preparing to right a wrong hanging over us from last May.

I have been happy with our pre-season on a whole, winning matches and learning from our losses too. I feel we have a good competitive squad filled with honest,  hard working men who accept the task of trying their utmost to push for 1 of the 3 promotion places available this season.

This isn’t going to be an easy task as I feel there will be 6 or 7 teams with a real chance of finishing in the top 3.  We face a difficult start to the campaign coupled with the fact that 6 players from the first team squad are unavailable tomorrow through injury and suspension, but it does give us a chance to use the U20’s squad from the off.

I also want to take this opportunity to acknowledge a great gesture from our club captain Thommo who has generously used money he was gifted through his testimonial match and bought some kit for the newly formed DUFC U20’s.

Hopefully a few DUFC fans can make the journey to Rosyth tomorrow and cheer on all the lads, and take in our first competitive match of season 22/23.

All the best

Kevin Haynes
