An update from our Captain

Hello Seasiders

First and foremost I would like to thank you all for your great support. The lads all really appreciate it,  and it doesn’t go unnoticed in the dressing room.

The season so far has been fantastic, we are sitting top of the league and on a good run of form. I spoke to the manager just the other night and said to him how good our Christmas night out was and it’s the fact that we as a group of boys are all in it together and we have built a friendly dressing room.

We signed half a team this season and the lads have all gelled well together and I think that shows with our performances on the park. I think as a whole the season has gone well and we hope to continue that into the game next week and the new year.

One of the biggest positives for 2022 has been the build of the new stand, It looks amazing and all the players feel a good atmosphere off the crowd which gives all the lads a massive buzz. Our attendances are the best in the league and it’s brilliant to have the community of Dunbar right behind us.  I have also enjoyed watching the lads at our new U20’s side flourish throughout the season and I am very proud to see the likes of young Gregor Goldie make it into the first team. Stuart Allan and his coaches are doing a fantastic job with the young Seasiders.

This season being my testimonial season couldn’t have started any better and I hope it can continue. It has been my most enjoyable season of my career and I feel as though I’m in good form. I can’t be any more prouder to say I’ve had my testimonial at my hometown club, the club I have played for since I was 5 years old. I’m hoping I can continue captaining the team to a strong end to the season and get us back into the Premier League to make it the best testimonial year.

I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and I hope to see you all on Friday the 30th of December at New Countess Park for our last home game of this year against Preston Athletic. Let’s finish 2022 at the top with another 3 points.

Merry Christmas

Thommo
