The delayed 2022 AGM took place last week at Hallhill, ahead of the King Cup clash with Dalkeith Thistle FC.

The agenda included updates from the Manager, Chairman and Treasurer.

The Manager’s update focused on this season’s performance, and his aims for the remainder of the season and beyond. 17 of the current squad had already been signed for next season and he was keen to continue to make the Club attractive to others, bringing the best players in to ensure we continue to compete. The Manager received a round of applause for the tremendous season so far and responded saying the success was down to everyone in the room, thanking the fans, Board and volunteers.

The Chairman’s update reflected his time since joining the Club, both on and off the pitch. In acknowledging the huge progress made in a few years, from ensuring the Clubs survival, regaining financial stability, to our current strong financial position, he emphasised that income generation has to remain the key focus and priority for the incoming Board to ensure the Clubs survival, and to provide Kevin with the budget required to continue to succeed.

The Chairman also reflected on the highlights, such as obtaining the SFA Licence, adding the U20s squad which is already exceeding early expectations and reaping benefits with players coming through to the first team, along with the Improvements off the pitch including the completion of the stand, as well as extras like the new pie hut and kit van. He reiterated that all these improvements were as a result of increased income revenue post Covid lockdown, however this had to continue to increase. The Chairman ended his update by thanking everyone for their support and was grateful for all the help given during his tenure.

The Treasurer gave their financial update, acknowledging the delay in the production in the accounts was down to ill-health, and the accounts were both in 2022 and currently in a healthy position.

Life Membership of Dunbar United was proposed and seconded for Laurie Wood, Janette Hendrie, John Johnstone, Keith Tait and Grant Thomson.

As intimated previously, Stuart Robertson stood down as Chairman and Director of the Club. Janette Hendrie & Lorraine Anderson also decided to step down as Directors from the Club at the AGM.

Pamela Munro and Dougie Gray were re-appointed to the Board, with Jake Duncan, Ronnie Gurr and Paul Lees also proposed at the meeting and accepted their appointments.

At a meeting of Board Members following the AGM , Pamela Munro was nominated to take the Chair of Dunbar United FC, which she accepted. There will be further updates on the Board structure in due course.

The Club wishes to express their gratitude for the tremendous improvements Stuart Robertson has overseen in his tenure at the Club, leaving the Club in a very strong position, both on and off the pitch. We wish Stuart well and look forward to seeing him at NCP continuing to support his local Club.

Janette Hendrie has been involved with Dunbar United for many years standing in many committee positions during that time. Lorraine has been a regular fixture in the turnstile on matchdays, along with operating the lottery every week. The Club would like to thank Janette and Lorraine for their support, and are delighted that Lorraine, with the help of her glamorous assistant, Hamish will continue to be our Lottery Stars every week!

There remain various opportunities for you to help the Club progress, from helping with helping on match days, identifying and developing commercial opportunities/leads, through to hospitality management. If you can spare your time, ideas, or expertise, please contact the Club.
